Hello all.
This is a randomizer program that takes a different route to the Reasonable gen3 randomizer recently released - instead of randomizing one set of games extremely thoroughly it aims to randomize every Pokemon game equally well, if not as thorough. It fills in the gaps of other randomizer programs by allowing full randomization of Gen4 & Black2/White2 ROMs - something that could only be previously partially achieved using cheats.
Right now it supports every main-series English ROM, and can randomize the following things in them:
Starter Pokemon
Wild Pokemon
Trainers Pokemon
Pokemon Base Stats
Pokemon Types
Pokemon Abilities
Pokemon Movesets
TM Moves
TM/HM Learnability
Static Pokemon (e.g. given by NPCs, buyable at the casino, etc)
The moves that Move Tutors teach, in certain games where they are particularly significant.
The download is here and you can get the source code here
The version which doesn't need an external config directory is here. Use this if the original complains about missing config files even after extraction.
Future features:
Much more support for non-English ROMs
Foreign language support for the program itself
More cool ASM hacks that you can apply to the games to customize your experience a little bit further.
Feedback, criticism and suggestions are extremely welcome. This was very fun to make.
EDIT: Updated for version 1.2.0a.
Link: https://github.com/lushen124/Universal-GBA-FE-Randomizer-Windows/releases/tag/v1.1.0
Added feature to generate a changelog.html file to detail all changes made to the game when randomizing.
Updated logic to carry over a character's highest weapon rank instead of randomly upping weapon ranks based on a character's new class. This should fix the issue of every character starting with A rank weapon levels.
Added logic to make sure legendary weapons don't show up prematurely.
Updated logic for movement costs to only update them for classes of units that need them (FE6: Miledy and Gale, FE7: Fiora and Farina, FE8: Glen and Valter).
Removed Enemy Buff: At least Amount.
Added Cross Gender option when randomizing classes.
Fixed an issue where FE8 monster weapons were getting 1-2 range causing crashes.
Fixed an issue where FE8 wasn't determining an appropriate promoted class for trainees (should only affect random recruitment).
Initial Release.
Last post I'll be making about this for a while now.
I think 0.99a was stable enough to warrant this official release. This release adds support for randomized Shamans and Summoners the ability to summon minions. Previously, the summons were tied explicitly to Ewan, Knoll, and Lyon. This adds logic to repoint the table if necessary and give any character that can access the summoner class the ability to summon when they get there. Note that there are three types of summons you could get (Ewan, Knoll, and Lyon's summons have different attributes). Which one you get is, of course, random. It's a randomizer, after all. :)
Additionally, one last fix was made to ensure that dark magic users always get something usable instead of randomly getting monster dark magics I assigned E ranks earlier to. Not to mention, some of you might have even seen Fomortiis's 'weapons' show up in some inventories.
I also added a convenient ZIP file that you can find in the release folder that packages the two files you need in the same folder together.
Disclaimer: I don't claim that the release is bug free, but I think it is good enough for a v1.0 release which is mostly functional with the initial scope of the project. New feature requests are, as always, appreciated. I may get around them (I already have a list of feature requests that I'd like to get to including randomizing normal enemy classes and unmessifying palettes (also FE8 palettes)) but I didn't want to hold this back to get all the features in, or else, it wouldn't be a release for a few more months. I also wanted to get to the mac version soon, since I know there are definitely some people waiting for that one.
Additionally, if you do find bugs, I also set up github to track issues and you can file bugs and feature requests here so that I can compile them into an easily accessible list. Reddit isn't exactly the easiest thing to search for posts. :)
I've added things on my plate still there. Please use labels to specify what you're filing and provide as much detail as you can.
For newcomers:
This application allows you to randomize your GBA Fire Emblem games (that includes Binding Blade (FE6), Blazing Sword (FE7), and Sacred Stones (FE8)). All you need to do is feed it a *.gba file and it should detect which game you gave it. From there, you can choose which parameters you wish to randomize and it will modify the file you fed in with the parameters you selected. If you're unsure of what the options do, I added tooltips for each control that will display when you hover the mouse over the checkbox or numeric field. They should explain what is being done with each option checked. I tried to make it as easy to use as I could, but let me know if you need help on something.
Note: Since the file itself is modified, you should create a copy if you want to generate multiple randomized games. You should not attempt to feed the randomizer an already randomized game.
Note 2: If you are randomizing Binding Blade, please use a game that is patched with the Redux translation patch found here.
TL; DR: Download and unzip both files into a folder. Feed it one of the GBA FE games and check the options you want. Randomize and enjoy. :)
This is a simple program that moves around items in the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (ALttP). It is used for racing the game.
When racing the game, it is suggested that each player play the same seed to ensure a level playing field.
This was created by Dessyreqt, Karkat, ChristosOwen, and Smallhacker, with input from the SRL ALttP community.
Select a location to save your randomized rom, then select Create
.
There are two difficulties, 'Casual' and 'Glitched'. If you don't know which one to pick, select 'Casual'. You can also create a non-randomized ROM, to play the classic game with the changes to the rom file we've added.
You can slow down the low-health warning or turn it off using the 'Heart Beep Speed' dropdown box.

Enabling the 'SRAM Trace' option will allow the rom's SRM file to automatically populate Zarby89's HUD, which can be found at https://zarby89.github.io/ZeldaHud/
'Show complexity' will display the number of steps to collect all of the items in the generated rom (explained more clearly in the spoiler log.)
'Check for Updates on Startup' will disable update checking. I'd recommend you leave this on, but if it's problematic to check due to your network situation, I understand.
Randomizing the game definitely tests how well you know it. Here's a few places where people commonly get stuck.
Try using the cape to enter the tower instead of the Master Sword.
If you have the Ocarina and Titan's Mitt, you can use that instead.
Beltway sniper. Government and using the funds to create a sanctuary in Canada for homeless black orphans and teach them the handling of firearms, a skill they would then use to commit shootings across the U.S. Fatalities Some of Muhammad and Malvo's victims. • 2002: • February 16, Tacoma, Washington: Keenya Nicole Cook, 21 (shot in the face by Malvo with a.45) • February or March, Los Angeles, California: An unidentified man (shot and killed during a robbery) • March 19, Tucson, Arizona: Jerry Ray Taylor, 60 (shot in the back by Muhammad with an unspecified gun) • May 27, Denton, Texas: Billy Gene Dillon, 37 • September 21: • Atlanta, Georgia: Million A. Try the Bombos Medallion instead. It makes lots of fire.
Try using the Pegasus Boots to charge into the block, jumping the gap with the recoil.
Go over to the shovel and press 'Y'. You can also toggle the Mushroom/Powder, Normal/Silver Arrows, and all the bottles in this way.
Sahasrahla is expecting the Pendant of Courage (the green one). It may be located in a different dungeon (check your map.)
You need to collect crystals 5 and 6, which may not be in the Ice Palace and Misery Mire anymore (check your map to see where.)
Press select on the inventory screen.
Yep, their hearts can be found elsewhere now. Good luck!
There are a number of differences from a randomized game to the normal game. Here's a short list:
Some bugs that wouldn't crop up in normal play have been fixed:
There isn't much text left in the game, but some of what you will find is in Japanese.
This randomizer uses the 1.0 JP version of the base rom because it is what is primarily used in speedrunning ALttP. Here are some of the features of this version compared to the English version:
